Laboratory Technician Senior
The College of Agriculture, Food and Environment department of Plant and Soil Sciences seeks a Laboratory Technician Senior. This position provides research technical support to faculty extension specialists involved in tobacco, forage, and grain crops extension and research. Agronomic plot management, lateral irrigation system management, and animal handling in forage grazing trials are the broad job functions. The position requires an understanding of research plot experimentation and accurate data collection techniques. Participation in all phases of the crop production cycle from planting through harvest, including necessary pesticide applications, is expected. So an enjoyment of agriculture production and working in agriculture field environments will enhance job satisfaction. Moderate mechanical skills and an ability to operate agricultural equipment are needed. The position is located in Princeton, KY.

Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs; Standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs; Sitting at computer workstation for extended periods; Working at heights above 4 feet; Repetitive motion; Job-related travel;

Occasional farm work with no air conditioning or heating. Exposure to :Risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job, Loud noises, Hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, Temperature extremes, Burns, Cuts/Punctures
Monday- Friday, 8:30 AM- 5:00 PM (37.5/hours)
Occasional weekend work possible
ability to operate agricultural research equipment, moderate mechanical skills

BS degree with more than one year of experience.
obtain certified pesticide applicators license within 6 months of employment
