The College of Human Medicine (CHM) at Michigan State University (MSU) seeks to fill a non-tenure system, fixed-term Assistant Professor position in the Division of Public Health in Flint, Michigan. The qualified candidate will join the Health Equity Research Workgroup, led by C. Debra Furr-Holden, Ph.D., and will support development and execution of the longitudinal Flint Area Study (FASt), within the Methodology and Data Core of the Flint Center for Health Equity Solutions (FCHES). The candidate will also work to gather and evaluate alcohol outlet data for the CDC Alcohol Policy to Prevent Youth Violence research project. In addition to these projects, the candidate is expected to develop and secure funding for independent research in the areas of public health practice, multi-level substance use intervention or global health.
To be optimally responsive to the public health needs of the Flint community, the candidate is expected to collaborate across multiple disciplines at MSU, with health care and health systems leaders, and community partners to improve health and advance the delivery of care across populations within the Flint community.Required Degree
