Payroll Analyst

NYU seeks a Payroll Analyst to serve as a payroll subject matter expert: compile, analyze and document issues on payroll and related fiscal activities in order to identify systemic issues and propose solutions. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and without errors. Coordinate with the Time and Attendance team to resolve any integration issues that may arise through the course of payroll processing. Implement internal control procedures to review and approve payroll expenditures. Make recommendations to senior department management based on knowledge of payroll; investigate payroll discrepancies and find resolution with appropriate University offices to resolve problem transactions. Serve as tier 2 escalation for employee payroll questions.

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education:

Required Experience:
At least 3 years related payroll experience including detailed reconciliation experience.

Preferred Experience:
Prior Workday Experience. Prior experience with an ERP Time and Attendance Solution.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, problem solving, knowledge of payroll principles and best practices. Advanced working knowledge of Excel. General knowledge of time and attendance as it relates to payroll processing and general knowledge of income tax treatment and its application to payroll.
