Summary of Duties:
This position is responsible for the strategic planning, administration, and direct support of the WSU Tri-Cities GEAR UP project at a designated school. Provides services to a cohort of least 150 students. Manages an operating budget of at least $95,000.00 annually and supervises temporary/hourly staff.

The Site Manager represents the university as primary liaison to the partner schools and their communities implementing GEAR UP goals and objectives while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, university, and grant regulations.

Duties include but are not limited to: provide direct outreach services to students; planning, preparation and leadership participation of group activities and seminars; coordinate and communicate with school administrators, teachers, staff, parents, students, area colleges, community members, organizations and businesses; provide local leadership in program evaluation; collect data documenting accomplishments and future needs; develop recommendations to improve program effectiveness.

The incumbent will provide support to key program components, including supervision of tutor training and career exploration, and post secondary preparation.

The GEAR-UP program provides an intensive, year-round program of early outreach to middle and high school students in the partnering districts. This position is housed out of the WSU Tri-Cities campus with a work location in Columbia High School in Burbank, WA.

Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
