The Office of Planned Giving is currently seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills for an Administrative Support Specialist position. Planned Giving is part of the Division of University Advancement, whose mission is to communicate the University's message and needs to the public in a way that generates friends and funds for the institution. Other departments in the division include Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Development, Donor Relations, and Event Planning.
The key responsibilities include:
o Provide support to Office of Planned Giving to process, record and track planned gifts, and to process, record and track estates in process.
o Engage in direct communications with donors, prospective donors, University staff and students, and the public in-person, via telephone or electronically.
o Answer phones for Office of Planned Giving.
o Create/assemble marketing materials and planned gift documentation to provide to existing/potential donors and internal University staff.
o Assist in the preparation of presentations and proposals given by the Office of Planned Giving through research of relevant topics and sources.
o Attend meetings and record notes, complete work-related on-campus and off-campus errands, and assist other Office of Planned Giving administrative support staff as needed.
o Interface with University of North Carolina General Administration, TIAA/Kaspick, and Crescendo Marketing for such purposes as reporting of new gifts, marketing, and donor stewardship.
o Communicate in a manner appropriate for the University setting, i.e., use proper grammar in oral and written communications, appear in attire that is neat and professional, and arrive to work promptly.
o Maintain confidentiality of records and communications.
Graduation from high school and one year of related office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Associate's Degree or Two (2) Year College Equivalent; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Office Suite, and Banner.
