Advisor Generalist - Graduation

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Utah Valley University is seeking full-time Advisor Generalist in Registration and Records. In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist, greet, advise, and provide information to students and the general public concerning university policies and procedures in person and by telephone. While staying in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

  • Assist students, faculty, and staff in troubleshooting errors and resolving problems associated with registration, records, grading, refund/academic petitions, curriculum, academic scheduling, graduation, and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree plus 2 years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree; or any combination of education and experience totaling four years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of content and curriculum.
  • Knowledge of graduation requirements.
  • Knowledge of student advisement methods and techniques.
  • Skills in word processing, spreadsheets and database software.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Banner preferred.
  • Skills in filing and record management.
  • Skills in training and supervision.
  • Skills in conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work independently on a multi-task level.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow-through to completion.
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities as well as management personnel.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Ability to anticipate departmental and student needs.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing to a diverse group or individual.

Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit continuously, see, hear and talk on a regular basis. Fine hand manipulation for computer work.

Pay Range: $25,665 - $32,082
