Director of Enrollment Services
The Director of Enrollment Services reports to the Dean of Student Services. The Director leads the Enrollment Services Team and is responsible for marketing, outreach, and recruiting plans, as well as providing information, coaching, and assistance to prospective students, families, and secondary counselors on the academic, financial, curricular, and co-curricular offerings of Lamar State College-Port Arthur. Other duties as required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year institution of higher education is required.
Requires three years’ experience providing effective college counseling, recruiting, or student service related area in higher education. (Related student work and/or internship experience will be considered for this position). Requires current Texas driver’s license or possesses ability to acquire one prior to employment start date.
Must have an understanding of student recruitment, student learning, enrollment management, and other relevant theories in education, social sciences, and humanities.
Must be a multi-task oriented individual with an appreciation for working within deadlines.
Knowledge of personal computer and various software, including Word, Excel and Appointment Plus.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
Must have understanding and ability to use technology in communications with students, texting, Twitter, SnapChat, FaceBook, and other social media.
Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with prospective students, families, faculty and staff in professional manner. Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
Ability to follow established college policies and procedures.
Master’s preferred. Ability to speak and understand Spanish preferred. Strongly prefer experience with Banner and ARGOS.
