Duties and Responsibilities Duties of this position will consist of, but not be limited to, the following:- Serve as the Lead Teacher for the 3-year-old class and Assistant Teacher for the four-year-old pre-K class;- Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, physical, creative, and language development based on the principles of Reggio Emilia;- Plan, prepare, and implement appropriate learning centers to encourage exploration and problem solving;-Greet children and families upon their arrival and departure, and communicate with parents on a daily basis;- Interact with the preschool children in a manner that makes them feel safe, accepted, encouraged, and challenged;- Maintain state licensing regulations and keep current on health and licensing requirements;- Conduct regular family conferences for the 3-year-old class each semester; Report to the Laboratory Preschool Director to coordinate all program efforts;- Perform and oversee cleaning and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean, healthy environment; and,- Support and enhance the Pierpont Early Childhood Program by collaborating with the Practicum Supervisor to coordinate classroom practices and curriculum with current best practices.

Minimum Required Education Master's degree (or equivalent, as determined by HR)

Required Licenses and/or Certifications - Certified through WV Department of Education (ECCAT)- CPR/First Aid Card

Type and Amount of Experience Needed Over six and up to twelve months of experience; however, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience is acceptable which provides an applicant the listed knowledge, skills, abilities,, and the capability to perform the essential functions of the job.Must have child care teaching experience with three (3) and four (4) year-olds.Trained in using a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the principles of Reggio Emilia.
