Duties: The primary function of this position is to carry out advanced in vivo and in vitro experiments in breast cancer research. Research approaches will include the use of inducible animal models of breast cancer and utilize various cell and molecular biology techniques. The job will include a combination of independent studies focused around multi-faceted team driven projects as well as providing Post-Doc support. Additional emphasis is placed on molecular biology techniques. Duties will include conducting pre-clinical drug studies involving rodent models. Responsibilities will also include breeding colony management, genotyping, histology, survival surgery, and tissue harvest, as well as maintaining records and material stocks. Cell and molecular work may require experience in cloning, PCR, Q-PCR, western and northern blotting, tissue culture, and flow cytometery.

Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 1 year to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience with recombinant DNA techniques, tissue culture and working with small animals is high preferred. Some of the work is done in the University's animal facility and requires gowning. It would be helpful if the candidate is not allergic to mice and rats. Excellent communication organizational, and computer skills are essential, as is the ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment.
