Position Summary: As a member of the departmental Leadership Team, the Assistant Director for Assessment and Strategic Initiatives provides leadership to develop and increase departmental knowledge of students, the educational environment, and program effectiveness. The Assistant Director provides coordination and expertise in designing, implementing, and interpreting assessment, evaluation, and research projects. The Assistant Director is responsible for the design and implementation of the departmental assessment plan and for the creation and dissemination of assessment outcomes within the department and to select campus partners. The Assistant Director will be an integral part of the departmental strategic planning process and will oversee the coordination of timelines and delivery of departmental strategic projects. The Assistant Director for Assessment and Strategic Initiatives is supervised by the Director of Housing and Residential Education.
Education Requirements: A Masters Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or College Student Development or related degree.
Qualification and Experience: - A minimum of 5 years professional experience. - Experience in developing learning outcomes, assessment plans, and conducting assessment projects. - Demonstrated understanding of a strategic planning and implementation process. - Understanding of issues of diversity; demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in promoting respect and appreciation for diversity and pluralism among students and staff. - Ability to utilize technology in the implementation, analysis, and reporting of data. - Committed to working within an innovative environment that is focused on the education of individuals and groups of college students within a residential setting through the development of cohesive residential communities and other leadership initiatives.
