The Department of Politics and Government at Illinois State University, seeks applicants for a non-tenure-track position in Legal Studies to start on January 16, 2018 to teach LGS 371 - Litigation II (three credit hours) for one semester. Depending on enrollment and the instructor's performance on-the-job, the Department may offer the instructor the opportunity to teach this course annually.
These positions are represented by the non-tenure track faculty association and may have associated dues or fees.
(1) Conferred JD degree from an ABA-accredited school prior to appointment start date
(2) A least one year of experience practicing law in the United States.
(3) For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
(4) If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
