Department Overview
The Department of Internal Medicine strives to provide superior general medical and sub-specialty care in an academic environment. Position Details
The Internal Medicine Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Sleep Technician to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Gather and Analyze Patient information.
* Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs.
* Explains pre-testing, testing, and post testing procedures to the patient.
* Testing Preparation Procedures.
* Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary.
* Performs pulmonary-function, lung-capacity, diffusion capacity, and blood-and-oxygen tests to gather data for use by physician in diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disorders: Confers with patient in treatment room to explain test procedures.
* Measures expired air, using various analyzers.
* Polysomnographic Record Scoring.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in medical lab technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualification:

* Respiratory therapy certification and/or experience.
* Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).
* CPR or BCLS certification.
* Good organization skills.
* Motivated, problem solving skills.
* Communicates positively and professionally with all external and internal customers.
