This position provides programmatic and specialized administrative support services within the Diversity, Institutional
Equity, and Title IX office. This position provides a professional and sensitive representation as it serves as the first
point of contact with internal and external customers, to include complainants.


  • Provides administrative support to the Office of Diversity, Institutional Equity and Title IX (ODIET), including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, travel arrangements, ordering supplies, reconciling department budget, processing invoices, etc., effectively handling a rapid pace of activity and frequently changing priorities. This includes handling of confidential information. Facilitates efficient use of the Executive Director's time through development and coordination of a complex calendar, prioritizing essential tasks and allowing for flexibility when time-sensitive events arise.
  • Serves as the first point of contact with internal and external constituents. Greets and refers office visitors. Treats all constituents with sensitivity and neutrality. Provides a professional representation of the ODIET, exercising judgment and discretion in responding to internal or external contacts.
  • Assists with prompt, equitable and impartial complaint intake and primary assessments for campus community.
  • Serves as complainants' first point of contact and maintains regular communication with parties to provide updates on cases. Provides clear information to complainants about the investigatory process, right to confidentiality, right to contact law enforcement, and victims' rights. Provides referrals to complainants regarding available on and off campus resources to include education, counseling services and other available support systems. Works closely with Title IX Coordinator to identify and integrate best practices in investigations.
  • Drafts case-related correspondence, prepares timelines, analyses, case summaries, and briefing memos in support of complaints. Coordinates closely with the Title IX Coordinator to administer the case management database and ensure equitable and compliant data. Tracks workflow of complaints and requests for accommodations to ensure timely processing. Analyzes trends and develops strategies to improve processes and outreach efforts.
  • Researches, develops, promotes and coordinates ODIET-related educational programs, including issues related to diversity/inclusion, Title IX and discrimination/harassment prevention. Develop marketing materials, presentations and social media announcements. Contacts speakers and expert presenters for department-related programs. Develops a basic understanding of the College's anti-discrimination policies in order to respond to basic information requests regarding ODIET issues.
  • Handles inquiries and correspondence for the Executive Director in his/her absence, as directed.
  • Acts as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies, attending meetings as the ODIET representative as needed.
  • Plans and executes events on behalf of the Department.
  • Supervises student workers within the department, approving timesheets as necessary.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous work experience in higher education
  • Two (2) years general office related duties, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with state, federal, local EEO/Discrimination laws, Title IX, V A W A, Clery and other applicable laws and regulations


  • Previous experience preparing communication for executive level officials.

Position may require local travel. Position requires individual to maintain a purchasing card, therefore successful
completion of a credit report is a condition of employment. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to
move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact
with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job,
with or without reasonable accommodations.
