This position is responsible and accountable for the provision of day-to-day leadership management and oversight of the perioperative services program (hereinafter referred to as "units of responsibility")
The selected candidate in this role will lead the day-to-day operations of UK Chandler Hospital Perioperative program. This position requires strong leadership, the ability to establish an environment that fosters quality patient outcomes and engages employees, as well as the business acumen to ensure the financial objectives of the units are achieved. Additionally, the Director will maintain compliance with regulations, policies and accreditation for all areas within Perioperative Services.
The Director provides leadership and support to all UK Chandler hospital perioperative service lines. The Director will assume a leadership position in programs that ensure seamless quality patient-centered care, will facilitate and participate in problem solving, and provide direction and consultation. Other major job responsibilities include: creative and futuristic planning for healthcare delivery, customer satisfaction, improving care through quality initiatives, taking a leadership role in establishing departmental goals, collaborating with other departments re: staff education, budget development and accountability, and implementing long range planning for meeting human and material resource needs.

Physical Requirements

The essential functions for this position may include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis and 25-50 pounds frequently; as well as stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.



Shift

Day shift primarily, but other shifts as needed to cover the needs of the department. Assumes 24-hour over site and accountability for all UK Chandler perioperative services division.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Working knowledge of MS Office and other applications.
The position requires the knowledge and skill of: leadership and administration; principles of teaching and learning; budgetary management and communication. Participates in strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of all new and revised programs and projects. Mastery of clinical and administrative operations within the Perioperative arena.
