This position has three main roles: Office Manager for the Graduate School of Business Administration's main office, manage and staff the front desk area of the office and leading various student services processes. This position requires the ability to analyze a steady flow of complicated questions and determine the appropriate course of action, utilizing an extensive knowledge of the programs and functions offered by the department. Daily duties include greeting visitors, answering phones, providing accurate information to students, visitors and applicants, processing files and documentation for confirmed students, producing the weekly e-newsletter, hiring and supervising work-study students, maintaining inventory and ordering supplies, maintaining the visual appearance of the front office and other areas, maintaining the file room, supporting the Program and Student Services staff, and other duties necessary for the smooth functioning of the department, while maintaining confidentiality and diplomatic demeanor. In addition, the role requires the involvement in a wide variety of special projects, ranging from operational analysis to event/program scheduling, to assisting faculty with classroom issues.
Work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Minimum of an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree preferred, Experience in office management. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Word, Excel and databases. Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential. Knowledge of office management routines and controls, particularly as they relate to inventory and vendor relations. Ability to organize, prioritize, take independent action, work independently, make critical decisions and analyze crisis situations. Demonstrated record of taking responsibility, dependability and strong work ethic. Flexibility to adapt to new technology and various computer software applications.
