Basic Function:
The Assistant Director of Operations and Data Analytics position for the School of Business will play a key role in overall coordination of the application process from the receipt of applications to the timely delivery of decisions as well as in conjunction with the Director general coordination of the office and its interaction with other WPI offices.
This position will be responsible for running all reports, analyzing recruitment and marketing data and will be responsible for all surveys and requests for data that come through the office. It is important that the incumbent in this role be able to not only analyze data but also anticipate data needs in advance of a formal request.
This individual will be part of a team of others who will, working with those focused on business development efforts, strive to manage a pipeline of candidates toward conversion. This requires that the Assistant Director be capable of both highly customized one-on-one and group interactions with candidates and potential candidates, navigating WPI tracking and reporting systems, and engaging in events aimed at conversion. The right candidate will work closely with the entire admissions team to meet collective enrollment goals, including those focused on class size and quality.
The assistant director will be responsible for the reporting and operations side of our CRM system. In addition, the assistant director will also work closely with other team members to ensure that logistics are maintained for domestic and international recruiting events. Local recruiting travel will be required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Through our CRM system develop effective and efficient reporting strategies for enrollment and recruitment data.
  • Effectively use data to help determine where students are finding us, what patters of recruitment are effective and where are best conversions lie.
  • Work with the international house on international candidates and their applications.
  • Effectively partner with the graduate admissions office on CRM system best practices, issues and challenges.
  • As a part of the admission and recruiting team work with prospective students and help to answer their questions and concerns.
  • Work closely with the rest of the team on domestic and international recruiting. Keep track of the information counselors bring back on budget, fair effectiveness and students seen so we can analyze the data and determine if the ROI is good enough to return.
  • Work closely with other departments on campus, including but not limited to Graduate Admissions, International House, Corporate and Professional Education, Bursar’s Office and the Accounting Office.
  • Coordinate with counselors and our CRM to ensure timely delivery of decisions.
  • Assist the Director in the day-to-day operations of the office and other projects as assigned.
  • Train co-workers to be familiar with application processes and various Banner screens so they will be effective back-ups.
  • Be available to attend local recruiting events.
  • Assist the department in preparing for domestic and international recruiting events.
  • Serve as primary department liaison when counselors and director are doing recruitment travel.

    Position Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Minimum four years of work experience in a fast-paced and professional environment.
    • Flexibility - The office is currently undergoing transition and, as such, the ideal candidate will understand that the process is evolving and will seek to take ownership of the process by sharing ideas for improvement.
    • Familiarity with technology and comfort level in using it.
    • Experience with data analytics.
    • As a first point of contact for the School of Business, a candidate both should have a pleasant demeanor and possess excellent customer service skills.
    • Comfortable using Banner (Preferred) , SharePoint and Excel.
    • Prioritizing is important.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in situations that are changing / evolving while remaining professional.
    • Detail-oriented.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Properly handle confidential matters.
    • Able to perform tasks independently while achieving the larger goals of a highly functioning team.
