General Description of Position:

 Postdoctoral fellow in nanotechnology

Job Description:

The candidate will be responsible for wafer-scale fabrication of nanoelectrode array chips, nanomaterials growth and characterization, surface modifications, and biosensor development. The position involves significant work on micro-/nano- fabrication of the sensor chips at national user facilities and in collaborators’ labs in national laboratories.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Ph.D. in experimental physical sciences or engineering

Experience: The candidate is required to have previous experience in multi-step microfabrication in clean room facilities, growth of nanomaterials, characterization of nanomaterials and nanodevices, and electrochemical techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: A Ph. D. degree in broadly defined fields related to nanomaterials and nanotechnology (including chemistry, physics, materials sciences and engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering,  mechanical engineering, bioengineering, etc.)

 

Experience: Strong experience in micro-/nano- lithography, physical and chemical vapor deposition, ion sputtering, plasma etching/deposition, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, and electrical/electrochemical measurements. Previous research experience in biosensors, surface chemistry and microfluidics is a plus.

 

U.S Citizens, permanent residents and international employees eligible to access national laboratory facilities are preferred.

Salary Range / Pay Rate:

 $47,476 - $65,000/annual depending on qualifications
