Review of applications begins 30 August 2017
The Open Education Consortium (OEC) is looking for a creative thinker with strong leadership skills to join a small, internationally diverse team of educational change-makers to lead planning and implementation of activities for our second decade. Under the direction and guidance of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing all aspects of the organization, while motivating staff, volunteers and members to advance open education around the world.
Key areas of responsibility:
- In collaboration with the Board of Directors, develop organizational vision, mission and strategic plans to guide the Consortium’s work;
- Develop operational plans in support of OEC’s strategic plan;
Programming and services
- Oversee the implementation of ongoing OEC programs, such as the Open Education Global Conference and Open Education Week;
Business Planning and Fundraising
- Develop strategic program offerings and services to provide base OEC revenue stream;
OEC is a virtual organization, and therefore the location of the position is flexible. Reliable internet and communications access are essential. International travel is required. Specific requirements include:
- Significant leadership and international experience. Senior level leadership of a nonprofit organization preferred.
