THIS POSITION IS PART-TIME


Supervise, coordinate and participate in special project planning and development activities to ensure smooth and successful establishment of the Pediatric Mental Health in Rural-setting Fellowship (PMHR) within the School of Nursing. The PMHR has two main goals: (1) to establish an academic-clinical partnership with pediatric primary practice mental health services and (2) to train nurse practitioner students with immersion experiences in rural and remote areas of North Carolina.

Work Performed
  • Participate in planning sessions with administration and faculty; advise on details relating to operations and recruitment of PMHR trainees.
  • Maintain liaison with clinical partners regarding project planning, development and implementation, assist with planning and marketing of the Pediatric Mental Health in Rural-setting Fellowship (PMHR); establish appropriate time frames and deadlines for materials and related details.
  • Collaborate with faculty and project team to complete and submit required federal reporting documents in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the main contact person for PMHR trainees and maintain data collection for reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate delivery of needs with faculty to ensure the securing of necessary equipment and material, developing weekly and semester calendars and coordinating time schedules with didactic and clinical partners throughout Fellowship matriculation.
  • Manage program details to ensure smooth delivery including, but not limited to, determining, securing and coordinating conference and meeting rooms, dining/break areas and other space requirements, and planning and coordinating accommodations, travel arrangements, end of program celebrations.
  • Supervise and coordinate correspondence to academic and clinical partners, graduate nursing students and project-related clients regarding reservations, applications and program details; respond to special or emergency needs of participants prior to, as well as during, the program.
  • Supervise and coordinate preparation of academic and clinical materials for program participants including, but not limited to, inventorying, ordering and securing of instructional materials, textbooks, technology-related learning tools and resources for delivering of pediatric mental health care, clinical supplies and other miscellaneous supplies, coordinating assembly of coursework and materials for on-campus intensives, and monitoring and storing surplus supplies.
  • Assist program team with strategies and methods for improving delivery of health services for pediatric clinical settings in rural NC which may include developing a procedures manual and mechanizing operations, providing preceptor and clinical resources, traveling with faculty to complete site visits. Compile and prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Recommend various personnel actions, including, but not limited to, orientation, marketing and communication with clients and clinical partners, team performance appraisals, and vacation schedules.
