Posting Summary:
The Office of University Communications at the University of Virginia seeks a Content Manager. This position will work as an integral part of the marketing team and will help support our mission to elevate the reputation of the University, promote its brand and develop creative content across owned and earned platforms. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, the Content Manager Developer will work alongside account planning and marketing staff, editorial staff, creative team and web development teams.

Responsible for:
-Ensuring content on owned platforms reflects most valuable strategic and creative content
-Creating a flexible approach to content curation, including retirement of older content, migration/consolidation and re-publishing as necessary to create a fresh, accurate and compelling mix that reflects both brand narrative and strategic areas of focus
-Optimizing exposure of marketing content throughout owned platforms and as integrated with paid programs
-Ensuring factual content is accurate (including refreshes of numbers-based information)

Using business analytics to inform decisions on content placement, re-publishing, and
-Managing the homepage content, integrating news, social, Illimitable and executive communications and institutional messaging
-Using audience insight and site analytics to improve and maintain audience-specific landing pages
-Periodic scans of the digital environment, ensuring content is appropriately and consistently referenced and that older content is reconsidered or re-organized
-Working with account team to understand how strategic content should or could be represented (economic impact, pursuit, accessibility, etc.)
-Working with development team to ensure content is displayed, placed and functioning properly and the larger digital environment supports the content in the best way
-Working with creative team as needed
-Day to day loading, editing, and review of content across owned platforms
-Development of a quarterly plan for content focus

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Collaborative, deadline-driven, willing to take direction and able to manage several projects at once in a competent manner.
-Experience developing content for digital environments
-Ability to think strategically about digital content and content publishing and audiences
