The Facilities Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Construction Specialist III to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:** POSITION TO START ON OR AFTER 09/01/2017 ** * Construction Project Management, oversight, planning, coordination, site safety and additional responsibilities in order to complete the Projects as assigned. * Position will also be responsible for certain Construction Progress Inspections for various disciplines of work for University jobsites. * This position is also required to process and request Purchase Orders and all associated documentation needed to secure Contracts per University Policies. * Maintain Project records, documents and spreadsheets. * This position will also be responsible for establishing projected Project Budgets for each Fiscal Year.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Physical ability to access work areas which may be in confined spaces or elevated heights.* Knowledge of appropriate safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.* Valid driver's license and ability to drive a vehicle, and maintain coverage under University auto insurance policy, if required to drive University vehicles.
