The Division of Academic Affairs at Towson University seeks a Study Abroad Advisor for the Study Abroad Office. The successful candidate will counsel students on all aspects of the study abroad experience and support the operations of the Study Abroad Office which facilitates international academic opportunities for 500+ students each year.

As a member of the Study Abroad team, the Study Abroad Advisor recruits and advises students in select world regions; develops and administers short and long-term TU programs and exchanges; liaises with international partner institutions and domestic-based study abroad program providers; communicates with other administrative and academic departments on-campus regarding study abroad policies and procedures; facilitates student pre-departure programming; and develops resources for and conducts outreach to underrepresented students. Active involvement in the international education field is encouraged through participation in professional organizations and conferences. Some domestic and international travel may be required.
Bachelor's degree; minimum two years experience working in education abroad; familiarity with current trends and best practices within the field; demonstrated use of computer applications, database, and web-based technology; excellent communication skills; ability to work as an effective team member; ability to multi-task; highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented; and experience working or studying abroad.
Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in related field, experience with study abroad advising and program development, previous experience with Symplicity Horizons or other web-based study abroad enrollment system; and the ability to speak a foreign language.
A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
Salary and Benefits
