Program Coordinator - Communications and Donor Relations

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

The Development/Alumni/Donor Department at Utah Valley University is looking for a full-time Program Coordinator to join our family of experienced staff. This position will be responsible for researching, writing, editing and producing materials that advocate community support for UVU on behalf of the major gifts officers. Projects include writing and preparing donor impact reports, assisting with the development of CASE materials, helping maintain donor relations, MGO gift proposals and support materials, letters, materials in support of donor events, and development of strategic philanthropic support materials for various campus entities.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field of study, advertising or journalism preferred, or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • A thorough understanding of, and appreciation for, the value and power of the written word within the context demanded by UVU and the Development and Alumni Relations team.
  • Knowledge and experience with and know-how to effectively use visual images with the written word for the purpose of communicating the desired message.
  • Persistent, affable, and not afraid to tackle new challenges.
  • Enjoys meeting and working with others.
  • Ability to have a quick mind.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Knowledge of current and developing issues and trends in the area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of the basic functions and capabilities of social media.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills with particular emphasis on expressing donor appreciation.
  • Has a sound understanding of Word Office components.
  • Ability to pay attention to details.

Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in advertising or journalism plus one year of experience or a combination of education and experience totaling five years.

Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to sit for extended periods of time with occasional walking, standing, reaching, etc.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Pay Range: $$33,385 - $41,731
