Systems Administrator - End User Systems

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Utah Valley University (UVU) is looking for a motivated and skilled Systems Administrator to work with fellow system administrators, area technicians, and security technicians supporting multiple applications and systems throughout UVU's IT enterprise. You will develop, build, and test applications and OS packages for rapid deployment through our centralized management system. You will perform: installation, configuration, administration, tuning and troubleshooting of assigned software applications. Create documentation and training for desktop technicians.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field plus three years of work experience in IT or a combination of education and experience in a related field totaling seven years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding/background in enterprise level centralized system management applications.
Understanding of automation tools including PowerShell, Python, Perl, VBA script, etc.
Current knowledge of industry trends, tools, and processes.
Familiar with enterprise level applications such as: Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, GPOs, databases, server administration/management, etc.
Skills with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Pre-execution environments, and Network booting.
Skills with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders.
Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools.
Ability to code and script.
Strong ability to focus on business outcomes.
Ability to work with a large team that spans across multiple departments.
Ability to learn new applications in a short time-frame.

Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:
May require occasional lifting, handling, pushing, or moving objects up to 50 lbs.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

May require some travel for training and to set up systems at off-campus locations.
Work schedule
Regular work hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Provide on-call technical support.

Pay Range: $48,117-$64,157
