Sr Int'l Admissions Counselor
The Senior International Admissions Counselor reports to the Director of International Admissions and will be responsible for supporting the recruitment and retention of international students with special emphasis on transfer admission and student worker program management. The counselor will be responsible for his/her assigned portfolio of prospective students to include freshman and transfer students. Portfolio management includes recruiting for assigned territories, tracking prospects, reviewing applications, communicating admissions decisions, analyzing enrollment reports, and tracking outcomes of admissions offers. The counselor will travel regionally and internationally to represent the university to prospective students, parents, school guidance counselors, and other constituents. The senior counselor supervises a team of student workers and monitors front desk operations including calls, emails, and walk-in visitors. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least three (3) year's work experience in a college or university admissions setting. Experience in international admissions, recruitment, foreign credential evaluation, or other related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Familiarity with international secondary and post-secondary education systems. * Proven record of excellent customer service skills * Effective interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills * Demonstrated computer skills to include word processing and database software programs * Demonstrated ability to work in Banner or similar student information systems * Demonstrated ability to work with others as part of a team * Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to take initiative and work independently. * Must be able to travel internationally and domestically. * Must be able to work during evenings and weekends on occasion. PREFERRED: * Experience living, working and/or studying outside the US. * Fluency in at least one language other than English.
