Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
- Minimum of five or more years of experience in campus outreach, community visitor services, public relations or related fields required.
- Minimum of five or more years of experience in program development and personnel management required.
- Working knowledge of UW-Madison campus and affiliated partners preferred.
Campus and Visitor Relations (CAVR) in the Office of University Relations provides personalized information, experiences, and connections for the campus, community, and beyond through a variety of programs and services. CAVR serves as the "front door" to campus for a wide range of campus visitors. The Director provides oversight and vision for the office, working collaboratively with a team of 9+ professional staff, 120+ student staff, and key stakeholders on campus and in the community. They are responsible for the overall management, direction, and operation of the office, fostering an inclusive culture that values diversity in background, thought and experiences. This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Government & Corporate Affairs and serves on the University Relations Leadership Team.
