Resident Assistants facilitate a peaceful living environment for students, while modeling and partnering with students to participate fully in dorm, college and community life.

This is a part-time position – Weekday evening (8 – 10) hours are available, Saturday A.M. & P.M. hours needed.

 

The P.A.C.E. Program at National Louis University is seeking part time Residential Life Assistants for the dorm component of the program. The Residential Life Assistant (RLA):

•facilitates student learning through guided social interactions and structured activities including but not limited to PACE clubs, PACE student life activities, dorm activities, and community integration opportunities and events;

•reinforces and monitors student life skills routines, goals and strategies designed for independent living;

•assists students with homework and quarterly portfolio preparation;

•assists PACE students with overall well-being, problem solving and emotional first aid techniques;

•participates in staff meetings as required by Student Life Coordinator, as well as department and university meetings (as required).

- Maintains up to date and objective case notes on student updates/concerns/progress.

- Communicates with Case Manager about student mental health and behavioral concerns

 

Undergraduate student or higher degree in human services, education, disability or recreation field is required.

Minimum one year experience with people with disabilities desirable.
