Primary Function of Organization Unit: Enterprise Application Services (EAS) is in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) division at North Carolina State University. EAS is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, enhancement & maintenance of the University's enterprise business applications. This includes: development, operation & maintenance of all enterprise administrative systems (Advancement, Financials, HR, Portal and Student Information Systems, REPORTER, etc.), configuration management, maintenance, enhancements, and application integration.
Essential Job Duties: The Business and Technology Application Developer is a member of the Mendix Application Development Team. The Mendix applications development team supports several applications, including REPORTER, a non-credit registration system and lab management, for laboratory scheduling and billing. Several additional project are being started in the upcoming year and this position will have a hand in support of all of those applications. The Developer is responsible for working with the IT Manager, Project Lead, team members, and functional offices in order to implement moderate enterprise application development projects with minimal supervision.
Department Required Skills: Ability to independently, quickly, and efficiently identify and solve technical problems that can impact a large number of customers. Ability to combine strong technical knowledge with a strong understanding of customer requirements to offer customer solutions to problems in a very practical, timely and efficient manner. Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills are essential. Understanding of the project development life-cycle, including but not limited to application analysis, development, testing, documentation, approval and post migration validation. Attention to detail and the ability to form strong relationships between team members, customers, and management.
