Advertised Job Summary: Design, install, configure, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and upgrade hardware and system software configurations in support of the Department of Mechanical Engineering's administrative, academic and outreach missions. Manage hardware and software lifecycles; negotiate pricing and purchasing. Manage services such as backups, file, print, licensing, etc. Assist users with issues and training. Design, install, configure, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and upgrade hardware and system software configurations in support of Mechanical research groups and the McNAIR Center's administrative, academic, and research missions. Manage hardware and software lifecycles; negotiate pricing and purchasing. Manage services such as backups, file, print, licensing, etc. Assist users with issues and training. Provide technical assistance, troubleshooting, and consulting for faculty, staff, and students related to information technology services, resources, and facilities provided by the Mechanical Engineering Department, the college, and the university. Train and supervise student technicians. Create and maintain related documentation. Comply with all pertinent information security requirements and standards as mandated by federal and state laws and regulations,as well as University and College policies and procedures. Obtain and maintain job training and certifications as required by job responsibilities. Self-train and maintain pace with rapidly changing technology as required. Perform additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Systems or related field and six years in computer systems development and modifications; or equivalency.
