Requisition Title: Assistant / Associate / Full Professor - Hematological Pathology - 1701345
The Laboratory Medicine Program at the University Health Network (UHN), a fully-affiliated hospital with the University of Toronto, are seeking a full-time specialist in Hematological Pathology at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. This position is available on August 1, 2018 or as mutually agreed upon.
The successful candidate must be an experienced academic hematopathologist with an established track record in scholarship who will join an academic laboratory faculty with diverse diagnostic expertise, excellence in teaching and recognized basic and/or clinical research programs. The Laboratory Medicine Program has a high volume of interesting and challenging cases that utilizes leading edge technologies in a tertiary care setting. The hematology division offers a full range of services in Morphology, Flow Cytometry and Molecular Pathology. The scope of responsibilities includes clinical duties related to the practice of Hematological Pathology, well-defined administrative responsibilities at UHN, including participation in a call roster, and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. Expertise in lymph node pathology would be an asset. Protected time will be provided for pursuit of translational or basic research interest.
Minimum requirements include MD degree, certification in Hematological Pathology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or its equivalent, and eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, University of Toronto, at a rank consistent with academic qualifications and experience.
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the uniform level of compensation in the Province of Ontario. The current base salary is approximately $241,463 per annum. The Ministry of Health and Long Term Service has implemented a program to ensure a total compensation package that will equalize your compensation with that of other Laboratory Physicians in the Province.
