Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
A year or more experience in academic advising or related student services field required (including undergraduate or graduate work experience).
*Proven commitment to increasing diversity in technology and computer science and the ability to work with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
*Understanding of the Computer Science profession and curricula, and ability to relate that understanding to undergraduate and prospective students.
*Excellent organizational, strategic planning and management skills, ability to initiate and complete projects on time, with available resources and minimal direction.
*Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in ability to communicate and work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, visiting students and families and the general public.
*Excellent written, verbal and problem solving skills.
As a member of the instructional team in the Department of Computer Sciences, the individual will be responsible for undergraduate advising, program coordination and outreach, and curricular and enrollment support. The individual will report to the Instructional Program Manager and work closely with the existing undergraduate student services coordinator, Undergraduate Advising Committee, and jointly with faculty and staff in the department associated with teaching and learning.
