As a key member of the Dean's Office in the Bouve College of Health Sciences, the Associate Deans' Academic Affairs Specialist will report and be responsible for assisting four Associate Deans (Faculty, Undergraduate Education, Graduate Education and Clinical Education, Rehabilitation and New Initiatives) in all administrative and management aspects. This person will provide high-level functions and support duties that include managing confidential documents and materials. The primary objective of this position is to assist the Associate Deans in achieving their goals for the College. This person will meet regularly with the Associate Deans to review and refine the articulated goals as warranted and to ensure smooth, efficient and timely fulfillment of duties and responsibilities. Specifically, the Academic Affairs Specialist will work autonomously and efficiently to enable the Associate Deans to maintain broad oversight of constituent business related to students, faculty, university committees, and new initiatives. Activities will include: 1) Data gathering, management and reporting of faculty affairs (new hires, sabbatical/professional leave requests, tenure/promotion processes, workload, and other confidential information); as well as undergraduate/graduate affairs (curriculum, course offerings, course catalog, course caps, teach assignments, recruitment and enrollment, student research opportunities/activities, student retention and success). 2) Assessment and evaluation of faculty and student activities and new initiatives. 3) Assistance and management of logistics, scheduling, calendars, meeting and events materials/reports/minutes. 4) Development and management of processes and systems to support the Associate Deans' office. Additionally, this person will serve as the manager and liaison between the Associate Deans in Bouve College and several offices and groups interacting with undergraduate and graduate academic affairs within Bouve [schools and departments, Simulation Council, Bouve Committees and Bouve Council, etc.]; across the university [other Colleges/Schools, Research Center's and Institutes, Registrar's Office, Residential Life, Disability Resource Center (DRC), Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR), Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning through Research (CATLR), Provost's Office, Senate Office, Office of Institutional Inclusion and Diversity (OIDI), Library, Professional Advancement Network, etc.]; and outside the university [New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), Council of Clinical Education Coordinators, Simulation Council, Interprofessional Education Coordinating Council, Accrediting Bodies of the Academic Programs offered in Bouve , etc.].
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred, or equivalent education and experience, with 3-5 years of high-level administrative support required, preferably in academic or healthcare related environment. Mature, experienced professional, capable of independently leading the administrative and management support activities of the Associate Deans’ office in an effective and timely manner.
