University of North Texas Health Science Center - HR Assistant II - Benefits Specialist
The HR Assistant II (Benefits Specialist) is responsible for supporting a services team administering benefits programs and services to all UNT entities, including insurance plans, retirement, deferred compensation plans, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Sick Leave Pool, and disability programs. This role serves as the first point of contact support to incoming calls/emails/requests for the UNT System Human Resources - Benefits. This position reports to the HR Benefits Manager and works independently within established policies and procedures. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: * Receives inbound calls/emails and answers general inquiries using knowledge of current HR procedures and practices * Displays high level of responsiveness to customer's needs, maintaining excellent customer service skills at all times. * Maintains current knowledge of organizational structure of all UNT System institutions and policies and procedures relevant to assigned area of responsibility. * Assist new employees with inquiries regarding participation in the Group Benefits Plan including: enrolling new employees in insurance coverage; determining eligibility for changes due to Qualifying Life Events; Annual Enrollment* Assist with processes within EIS (PeopleSoft) for Benefits to ensure that employee enrollments and terminations are processed correctly* Serves as back-up for HR Specialist II (Benefits)* Assist with data entry regarding institutional insurance programs including health, dental, disability, life, long term care and flexible spending programs* Assist with data entry regarding institutional retirement programs including deferred compensation plans* Reviews and processes human resources forms and assists with completion.* Assist with FMLA and Sick Leave Pool processing inquiries The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
