Instructor or Assistant / Associate Professor - Accounting
The University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s McLane College of Business seeks an Instructor or Assistant / Associate Professor for its Accounting, Economics & Finance Department, beginning spring semester in early January 2018. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.
The Accounting, Economics & Finance Department offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting and also supports the college’s graduate programs.
UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of 18,000 in the heart of central Texas. Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.
Faculty Responsibilities: Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching and service to department, college, and university.
Specific Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Tax, and related graduate courses if qualified. The teaching load is 4 undergraduate courses per semester (or the graduate equivalent) with three course preparations.
Qualifications: A Masters degree with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in accounting is required; a doctoral degree is preferred. Tenure-track status requires terminal degree in hand. Professional certification and business experience is preferred. Excellent teaching and communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential. Must be an active and committed Christian.
