Position Summary: The Department of Neurology at UNC-CH has an opening for a Research Assistant Professor. The faculty member will lead a team of translational researchers working on endocannabinoid drug discovery focusing primarily on pre-clinical and clinical implementation of cannabis-based compounds and better understanding their potential and interworking mechanisms for medicinal use. The individual should have a biomedical engineering background and experience in conducting translational research in the area of drug discovery, including patient-provider communication, shared decision-making and decision aids, and quality improvement-based implementation of both pre-clinical and clinical drug therapy programs. Applicants should have substantial knowledge of pre-clinical and clinical systems and workflows, and will work closely with basic scientists, engineers, clinicians, clinical support staff, academic scientists, and community partners to develop and implement evidence-based child brain research programs. The fixed-term for the position is 1 year, and will be renewed annually based on performance review and availability of research funding.

Education Requirements: Doctoral degree in biomedical engineering is required.

Qualification and Experience: Prior experience in setting up translational clinical research programs and knowledge and hands-on experience with brain imaging data acquisition and image post processing is highly desired.
