  Position Information  

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

The Assistant Fiscal and Contract Analyst is  responsible for assisting in the monitoring of budgets and management of the financial logistics of multiple, simultaneously-occurring projects, including multi-million dollar Major Capital Outlay construction projects. These projects include highly complex, customized contracts for CSU Public Works Projects and Specialty Service and Maintenance Contracts implemented by Project Management.  These contracts include: Major and Minor Capital Outlay; Job Order Contracting; Facility Repair and Renewal; Specialty Service and Maintenance Contracts; and support contracts and contractor performed work.

  Compensation and Benefits  

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $4,350 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,288 - $5,809 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

  Qualifications  

Minimum Qualifications 

Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills

  • Experience creating and processing Purchase Requisitions, Oracle Financials preferred.
  • Experience with on-line reports generation, Oracle Financials preferred.
  • Experience administering and reconciling multiple fund accounts tied to project expenditures. 
  • Experience with GAAP (generally accepted accounting practices) used in preparation of financial statements.
  • Experience in multi-fund management and accounting.
  • Experience in contract document preparation.
