FT Assistant Professor - Health Services - ERESA
Teach courses in Health Occupations I and Health Occupations II to high school students on LCC’s main campus for the Eaton Regional Education Services Agency (ERESA). Monday through Friday morning and afternoon sessions fall and spring semesters, and continuing yearly as enrollment permits. Course content to include but not limited to: introduction to health professions, medical terminology, long-term care nurse aide, and patient care technician. Position follows ERESA calendar. Develop curriculum to meet state occupational standards as well as LCC course requirements. Participate regularly on departmental, divisional, and ERESA teams. Work effectively with other faculty and staff in a rapidly changing team environment. Support and contribute to diversity and student success initiatives. Remain current in subject area and teaching methodologies. Schedule and monitor student field placements in community programs. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
State of Michigan Nursing License (or be eligible for within 30 days of employment).
Train the Trainer certified (or be eligible for within 30 days of employment).
Minimum two years of clinical experience in the hospital and Long Term Care setting.
Two years of Nursing or Nurse Aid related teaching experience in clinical and classroom setting.
Background knowledge of classroom and student assessment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including online strategies.
Experience with High School students.
