Essential functions of this position:
The Disbursements Specialist position is primarily responsible for processing vendor invoices related to purchase orders. This includes but is not limited to reviewing data, researching and resolving invoice discrepancies, and data entry into the web-based purchasing system (Jaggaer) and financial system of record (Banner). This position also completes the university’s weekly check run processes. The Disbursements staff interacts with all campus departments as well as outside vendors.
N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Knowledge and theory of generally accepted accounting principles
Knowledge of business, financial and general administrative processes in a business setting
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate at all organizational levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
1-2 years of Accounts Payable or general ledger experience
Experience with Banner Finance or similar ERP application
Experience in higher education
Recruitment Range: $29,065 - $32,038
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 59
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
