Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor, Non-Tenure Track, Department of Nursing. Otterbein University, a comprehensive liberal arts institution in the suburban Columbus area, invites immediate applications for a Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor position in Nursing, with the appointment beginning August 2017. This is a non-tenure-track position. Visiting positions are for one year at a time, with possibility of annual renewal for a maximum of three years
Responsibilities: Active participation in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing programs including team teaching and Departmental committee work. Teaching responsibilities include classroom and clinical instruction in the DNP, MSN, and BSN programs in accordance with the faculty member’s educational preparation and clinical experience; ability to teach evening and weekend classes, as well as daytime classes. Faculty members are expected to be involved in professional and community activities for the purposes of scholarship, self-development and service.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Nursing required; doctorate in Nursing (PhD or DNP) or related field required for the rank of Assistant Professor; candidates without terminal degrees will hold the rank of Instructor, Non-Tenure Track. Unencumbered registered nurse license to practice nursing in Ohio required. Candidates should also possess expertise in the areas of nursing appropriate to the assigned courses; demonstrated ability in teaching, and computer literacy. Clinical experience in psychiatric-mental health nursing required. Psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner preferred. In addition, teaching experience in baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs, experience in curriculum development and evaluation, and experience in online and/or blended education preferred.
