The purpose of the position is to support academic outcomes for School of Design Students by facilitating access to art and design technologies. These technologies range from cameras and photography studio equipment, to large format digital printing, to computer labs, and 3D imaging. The Center for Arts and Graphic Equipment is looking to expand our knowledge base as it relates to emerging digital imaging technologies including but not limited to 3D printing and laser cutting.

Essential Functions:
* Provide professional service to students and faculty
* Facilitate check out of equipment and technology to students, faculty, and staff.
* Produce professional digital 2D prints and 3D prints, dry mounts and Laser cuttings.
* Trouble shoot student and faculty technology issues as they arise.
* Help maintain and update computer labs and design studios.
* Develop 3d imaging technology holdings in close collaboration with faulty.
* Collaborate with Technology Services to assure students staff and faculty have access to network resources.
* Maintain regular open hours.
* Other tasks as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
* Bachelors degree in an art and design related field, or equivalent professional experience.
* Ability to work nights.
* Reliable self-starter with excellent customer service skills.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* The Center for Arts and Graphic Equipment will employ a Technician who has an interest in and is knowledgeable about the use of Art and Design technologies related to school of design majors - Interior Architecture, Fashion Design and Merchandising, Graphic Design, Photography, Interactive Media, Game Art and Animation, and Digital Visualization.
* Strong background in 3D imaging and be familiar with imaging technologies such as 3D printing and scanning, virtual and augmented reality, as well as other emerging technologies.
* Background with PC and Mac computers.
* Familiarity with photography and digital ink-jet printing a plus.
* Dedicated to the continued advancement of their knowledge of a wide variety of art, design, and imagining technologies.
* Must be able to work across academic departments to provide excellent service to students and faculty.
* Must be prompt, responsive, and reliable.
* Must be a self-starter, professional in their relationships, and process excellent customer service skills.
