The Curry School of Education seeks applicants for a non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor of Education in the Department of Educational Leadership, Foundations, and Policy and the Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL).

The incumbent collaborates with Dr. David Grissmer, Director of the Foundation of Cognition and Learning Lab (FOCAL) and researchers in the FOCAL lab to broaden and deepen our knowledge of the evolution of early domain general developmental deficits and disabilities by linking neuroscience based research into our current research agenda that includes RCTs and analysis of longitudinal surveys. The incumbent will also collaborate with others at CASTL on projects that can benefit from a neuroscience perspective. The incumbent is also expected to conduct a successful independent program of research as evidenced by publications in refereed journals and sponsored research, and exhibit a commitment to diversity and equity through their scholarship and service. Possibility of teaching based on need, load availability, and mutual agreement between successful candidate, Department Chair, and CASTL Director. This appointment is contingent upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.

A Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Developmental/Cognitive Psychology, or a related field is required, as is a minimum three years' experience conducting and managing research using neuroscience measures to explore hypotheses on the role of disabilities in math or reading or developmental deficits on later achievement is required. A track record of contributing as part of a multi-disciplinary team to large grant proposals is essential, as is a record of scholarship and publishing within the fields of neuroscience, developmental psychology and education. A track record of extramural funding is preferred. Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, collaboration, and communication skills are a must, as are the ability to employ strong organizational and time management skills, ability to work independently and with a diverse team, ability to deliver high quality results, and meet regular deadlines.
