and degree requirements, course scheduling, enrollment, degree
verification, graduation, athletic eligibility and maintenance of
student academic records, as well as handles state and federal

Job Description
The Registrar Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Student Services Specialist II to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Assisting in the academic certification of student-athletes according to NCAA Bylaws Certifying student eligibility for club and intramural sports.
* Processing B-On-Time Loan Forgiveness applications.
* Verifying current and former student academic history details through the National Student Clearinghouse Responding to customer requests that come to the Registrar's Office email inbox and AskUNT database.
* Advising students and their parents/guardians about in-state residency requirements.
* Providing customer service support to the part-time student assistants who work at the Registrar's Office front counter.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess an Associate's Degree and two years of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Proficiency in MS Office

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Previous experience working in a higher education setting.
* Familiarity with FERPA laws governing the privacy of student records.
* Customer service background.
* Ability to quickly grasp detailed rules and regulations and apply them accurately to students' situations.
