Fire Inspector Maintenance Specialist
This position is vital to the Fire Marshal's office. The volume of training, inspections, and plan review are to a point of taxing our current resources. This position effectively addresses this critical need. Responsibilities include assisting the Assistant Fire Marshal in performing inspections for existing and new facilities to identify fire/life safety deficiencies in Greek housing, residence halls, and university-owned buildings (off campus and on campus); conducting inspections/reviews for university construction projects to ensure adherence to project scope and Kentucky Building Code, UK Standards, ADA, and life safety standards; conducting reviews (building audits, places of assembly and classroom evaluations) in identifying fire/life safety deficiencies; and compiles reports with recommendations for correction of deficiencies.
