Working under the guidance of the Assistant Director in the College of Engineering's Center for Academic Advising & Student Affairs (CAASA), the Career Counselor actively supports the professional development of undergraduate students, focusing on freshmen and sophomore engineering student population. The Career Counselor's duties involve providing individualized career counseling sessions, planning and organizing small- and large-scale workshops and events, and assisting the Assistant Director in managing our career counseling operations. This individual will also assist with internship and Co-Op placement and develop content to support departmental and college-wide communications initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least two years of professional experience in career services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
*Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of students and various constituencies, including employers, alumni, faculty and staff.
*Demonstrated ability to prepare concise, accurate and high-quality written work and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
*Ability to maintain a consistently positive and objective constituent service approach.
*Ability to manage time effectively while balancing multiple tasks.
*Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to use independent judgment.
*Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
*Demonstrated understanding of and appreciation for the value of an engineering education.
*Knowledge and use of personal computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

*Career Services / Career Counseling experience in higher education.
*Master's degree in Counseling or related field.
*Certifications: MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory.
*Ability to manage a wide variety of projects/requests including innovative virtual programing.
*Demonstrated effective use of software such as: NACElink, CSO, Handshake, or other Career Resource Management Systems.
