The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is seeking an individual to be responsible for the administration and support of its computer and network systems. If you are looking for a technically diverse environment where you can expand and build your expertise in IT Systems Administration while working in a non-profit environment that shares cultural similarities with academia SIAM may be the perfect fit for you.
This position is focused on the day-to-day support of SIAM staff and the IT resources upon which they depend.
Experience with or an inclination and ability to learn any of the following is highly desired: Windows desktop and server operating systems, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Group Policy, MS Exchange, scripting (PowerShell), application deployment and support (MS Office, Creative Cloud), general security management such as firewall configuration, intrusion detection, anti-malware software, hardware configuration, deployment, and maintenance.
We are looking for an individual with a serious commitment to an IT career and who finds solving problems and helping others to be enjoyable and rewarding. A desire to not "just do it right" but to continuously find how to do it better.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required plus some formal education or certifications are essential. A demonstrated ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals in writing and verbally is very important.
