Asst Prof/Assoc Prof/ Prof, Biological Sciences - 603297

The Center for Bioengineering Innovation (CBI) at Northern Arizona University invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured teaching and research position in the area of molecular genetics. This position will be housed in CBI with an academic home of the Biological Sciences Department. We seek candidates with demonstrated expertise in employing genomic approaches to understand fundamental processes of gene expression (e.g., transcriptional and translational control, mechanisms of epigenetics etc.) as part of the Center for Bioengineering Innovation research group. This position is slated to begin in August 2018. At the Assistant Professor rank, the position is tenure-track.  At the Associate Professor and Professor rank the position may or may not be tenured based on qualifications and experience as guided by COFS and college/unit criteria for promotion. Preference will be given to applicants with experience and documented successes in publication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and acquisition of external funding associated with translational research in molecular genetics. The successful candidate will: (1) maintain an independent research program that is supported by awards from extramural agencies; (2) contribute to the teaching mission of the Department of Biological Sciences, including mentoring of undergraduate, M.S. and Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows in Bioengineering and Biology; and (3) perform service for the department, university, and profession.

Minimum Qualifications:  

Assistant Professor: PhD in biological sciences or related field, and minimum one-year post-doctoral research experience. Associate Professor include all of the above and Associate Professor rank and successful university teaching experience in a university setting, and a strong record of research productivity including demonstrated success in obtaining extramural grant funding. Professor include all of the above and Professor rank and successful university teaching experience in a university setting, a substantial record of research productivity including a sustained record of extramural grant funding and a record of sustained leadership and service to the professional community and within the university setting.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
