The Newberry College Department of Sciences and Mathematics seeks to fill a full-time (nine month) tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology position to begin January 2018 with an area of specialty preferred in genetics or cell biology.  The position includes teaching 12 credit hours per semester of courses ranging from Introductory Biology and upper level courses in area of specialty.  In addition faculty members serve on committees, advise students and accept other departmental and college wide duties.  A commitment to excellence in teaching, college service and scholarly activity and essential. 

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Biology or related field. Desirable candidates will exhibit one or more of the following traits: Specialty in Genetics or Cell Biology.
