Content Manager

The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a Content Manager position within the Opus College of Business.

The content manager drives creation and execution of a robust content marketing plan to enhance the awareness and reputation of the Opus College of Business (OCB), and to generate demand for its degree and non-degree programs.

Collaborating daily with the University's centralized marketing team and internal constituents, the manager is responsible for creating and curating engaging and effective content for traditional and digital channels – website, blog, social media, email, print collateral, white papers and case studies, testimonials, infographics, etc. The role will manage the content development process, from identifying the right themes and topics for targeted audiences, working with internal subject matter experts to create the content, and then ensuring it reaches the audience through appropriate channels. This role will oversee all OCB social media accounts and maintain engagement among the OCB community of current and prospective students, alumni, business partners, opinion leaders, and other constituents.

The Content Manager will be a key contributor to the optimization of marketing tactics and performance reporting.

  1. Working with key internal stakeholders and the University's centralized marketing team within OCB, create/refine compelling content for distribution across a variety of channels, including website, social media, email, video, and print collateral. Ensure all content is on brand, consistent with university style, tone of voice and optimized for delivery to that channel. Maintain a comprehensive content calendar, which includes the ongoing input of data, timing and distribution plans. Identify new content opportunities as well as necessary content updates based on established goals and objectives, program changes, content performance and feedback.
  2. Serve as a community manager for OCB social media channels. Lead efforts to grow engagement on these platforms through frequent, compelling updates that create a sense of community and increase loyalty. Monitor and respond to social media comments, and engage in digital conversations. Stay abreast of social media trends and new opportunities for social media growth.
  3. Perform content reviews for accuracy, organization, presentation and performance. Optimize delivery of content, choosing the appropriate delivery channel and implementing best practices for audience segmentation, formats, and testing. Maintain content distribution lists, ensuring coordination and timing of communication within OCB. Ensure content optimization and relevance to increase its ranking in search engines.
  4. Monitor and analyze content performance data based on goals and metrics, including monitoring website analytics, email campaign and social media performance. Develop recommendations based on performance metrics.
  5. Handle end-to-end production and deployment of content across the distribution channels, utilizing the university content management and email systems and social media tools.

The content manager drives creation and execution of a robust content marketing plan to enhance the awareness and, Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related area and five years of relevant professional marketing communications experience to include at least two years of experience with marketing, communications, content creation, and user-generated content management; plus a minimum of two years of professional social media marketing experience. Must have experience with email marketing and email management applications, search engine optimization, and analytics systems.

Preferred qualifications: Professional experience in higher education marketing and communications.
