Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) at North Carolina State University provides nutrition education to low-income families with young children, pregnant women, and school-aged youth. In addition to face-to-face learning opportunities, EFNEP utilizes contemporary technology in nutrition education to expand program reach and deliver educational content to participants.

Essential Job Duties: The Technology and Participant Outreach Extension Assistant position will be an integral part of the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences professional faculty and staff at North Carolina State University. The position will interface with national work groups and committees; statewide, county, and district Cooperative Extension staff and volunteers; as well as other state and community¬-based organizations. The Technology and Participant Outreach Extension Assistant will work under the direction of the Coordinator and in collaboration with the Technology and Social Media Extension Associate to implement high technology implementation approaches outlined within EFNEP policy to increase participant outreach and graduation rates. The Extension Assistant will help to develop and craft accurate nutrition content to be distributed through relevant media channels. It is expected that the position will remain current with research as it relates to the use of technology as an extension of nutrition education with low-income audiences. Essential job duties include, but are not limited to: * Contribute to website and social media content and posts. * Work in coordination with designated EFNEP team members, develop video content to reinforce learning concepts and support online success stories. * Secure and/or serve as the "on-camera" talent to deliver Facebook live and other online video lessons as it relates to the nutrition research. * Schedule video locations, secure props for and stage video block. * Develop staff training for utilizing blended in person and online lessons to reach new audiences and improve graduation rates. * Track and report outreach of technology implementation to local, state, and national stakeholders. * Work in coordination with key agencies and program partners within North Carolina to support program outreach to low-income audiences. * Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience: * Bachelor's Degree in Foods and Nutrition, Food Service, or Family & Consumer Sciences Education, or other related fields, with a minimum of 3 years equivalent professional training and experience. * Background in technology and/or social media strategies for recruitment, retention, and/or engagement of participants in education.

Department Required Skills: * Demonstrated success and proficiency in working with teams and a commitment to diversity and pluralism. * Excellent verbal and written communication. * Proficient in technology used in educational program outreach.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * Master's Degree in Foods and Nutrition, Food Service, or Family & Consumer Sciences Education, or other related fields. * Demonstrated expertise in adult and youth education theories and practices for diverse audiences and food, nutrition, and health. * Experience in training, adult education or teaching. * Experience working with diverse limited resource audiences and the agencies that serve them. * Proficient in video development and production. * Experience in community nutrition education and program development for limited resource families. * Experience with Cooperative Extension, EFNEP, SNAP-Ed or other health related program delivery and management. * Strong commitment to the Land Grant philosophy.

Necessary Licenses and Certifications: * A valid drivers license is required for travel. NC drivers license required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained.
