Job Description: Position will be a full-time interim position through June 30, 2018 or until permanent Assistant Director position is filled. This position supervises two professional staff who oversee the two Neighborhood Services Offices and the Jones Office main desk. This position oversees the safety inspection processes, and all administrative components of the NSOs. This position is responsible for the overall recruitment program for the residence hall student population. Coordinates Resident Advisor/Graduate Coordinator recruitment; Advises the Residence Hall association, works with all Hall Governments; programming; team work; communication; staff development; and serving as a member of the Residence Life Management Team. The Assistant Director, Recruitment, Leadership and Programming, supervises one Graduate Coordinator for 50% time and assures that the needs of students are met in an efficient and developmental manner. The Assistant Director serves as the Residence Hall association Advisor and assists students with all aspects of the organization. The Assistant Director trains all Residence Hall Coordinators on student advising, and serves as a resource in this area. The Assistant Director develops leadership development plans to insure that all Hall Government officers and members are trained and recognized in addition to Residence Hall Association initiatives. Assistant Director, Campus Living-Recruitment, Leadership and Programming develops and oversees the departmental Programming Model/Philosophy to insure that student and community development occur and that safety, innovations, and diversity education are emphasized. The Assistant Director thoroughly trains all levels of staff on the Programming Model, philosophy, and expectations. The Assistant Director articulates clear program expectations to all staff and through reports submitted by Coordinators, monitors staff progress and insures that consistent written follow-up occurs on an on-going and timely basis. The Assistant Director implements and coordinates a monthly and annual recognition program focusing on both individual as well as outstanding program accomplishments. The Assistant Director works in tandem with the Department of Recreational Services, Center for Counseling & Student Development and the ECU Police to coordinate educational programs. The Assistant Director liaisons with the third-party food service vendor to oversee the program options/process and the Pirate Market Program. The Assistant Director completes special projects as assigned by the Director of Residence Life. The Assistant Director develops needs assessments, which are distributed to residents whose feedback will be utilized in enhancing the community. The Assistant Director develops, orders and displays, alcohol education posters within the residence halls to promote safety, wise decision-making and responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in College Student Personnel or related field and a minimum of two years live-in residence hall experience.
